Janhvi Kapoor calls rumoured boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya her ‘support system’: “He has been in my life since I was 15-16”

Janhvi Kapoor, who has often hinted at her relationship with Shikhar Pahariya, has never declared her love for him publicly. However, in a recent interview for the promotion of her upcoming film ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, Janhvi couldn’t hold back her emotions when asked about her support system. She revealed that Shikhar has been a part of her life since her teenage years, sharing that they support each other’s dreams.

In a chat with Mirchi Plus, Janhvi was asked about the two people who have supported her dreams. She first mentioned her parents, the late actor Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, and then spoke about Shikhar. “He has been in my life since I was 15-16. I think my dreams have always been his dreams and his dreams have always been my dreams. We’ve been very close. We’ve been each other’s support system almost as if we’ve raised each other,” she said with a smile on her face.

The interviewer likened this to a real-life ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ moment and reminded Janhvi of her ‘Shikhu’ moment from Koffee with Karan. Janhvi responded that she hadn’t planned on saying anything about Shikhar but simply went with the flow. “Plan nahi tha (Wasn’t the plan) but I think I was just like in the feels about it a little bit,” she said.

Janhvi first hinted about dating Shikhar on Koffee with Karan with Sara Ali Khan. In her last appearance on the show with her sister Khushi Kapoor, she mentioned Shikhar’s name. Janhvi and Shikhar are often seen together at events, and he has been photographed with Janhvi’s family members. Janhvi has also been spotted wearing a necklace with Shikhar’s name at various events.

When an Instagram fan account recently speculated that Janhvi might be tying the knot with Shikhar at Tirupati temple, she quickly shut down the rumours, responding, “Kuch bhi (What even!).” In a recent interview with Zoom, Janhvi’s father, Boney Kapoor, expressed his affection for Shikhar, mentioning that even when the couple had broken up a couple of years ago, they remained friends.

Janhvi’s candid remarks have added a new dimension to the public’s understanding of her personal life, providing a rare glimpse into her close bond with Shikhar Pahariya.
